Stardom kicks off 2020 with a tag team match between young wrestlers from Queen's Quest and TCS. Rina and Hina, who have recently reunited and teamed up across unit boundaries, will face each other for the first time in a while
The match started with Onozaki and Ruaka. After a test of strength in a lock-up, Ruaka pushed forward, but Onozaki dodged a lariat and charged. Ruaka sent Onozaki flying with a shoulder tackle. Hinami prepared to body slam Ruaka. Ruaka resisted and countered with a cross body. Rinami attempted an outer leg sweep on Hinami. Hinami countered, and Rinami initiated an elbow exchange. The sisters exchanged elbows, and Rinami performed a hip throw. Onozaki and Hinami attacked Rinami together, and Hinami went for a Gedo Clutch, but Ruaka broke it up and delivered a big boot. Rinami put Hinami in a Manji Gatame. When Hinami resisted, Rinami went for a roll-up, but it was only a two count. Rinami delivered a corner dropkick, and Ruaka delivered a big boot. Onozaki successfully broke it up and hit both of them with a face crusher. Hinami executed a series of roll-ups before applying the Gedo Clutch, which Rina was unable to escape, resulting in a three-count

Everyone shakes hands and the gong sounds. After feeling each other out, they get into a four-point stance, and the two Japanese men push forward. Hersh pushes him away and sends Iida flying with a shoulder tackle. He climbs onto the corner and Hoshino drops him onto Iida with a deadly drive. Iida and Hoshino exchange elbows. Hoshino lands a series of dropkicks on Iida. Iida dodges and hits a lariat. Hoshino dodges and tries to get on her back, but Hersh interferes. Hoshino hits Hersh with a dropkick. He tries to jump on her but Hersh stops him and puts him in a reverse Boston crab. Iida breaks up the hold and offers to team up with Hoshino. The two throw each other into the corner, and Hoshino corners Iida as well and hits him with a running dropkick. Iida tries to roll up Hersh after he slams him in, but it's broken up. Hoshino hits Iida with a hurricanrana. Hersh hits Iida with a German suplex. Hoshino goes in with elbows. Hirsch countered with a lariat, then climbed to the corner and performed a moonsault press. Hoshino was unable to kick out, and the referee counted to three

When Prestley offered a handshake, Natsu yelled "Fuck you!" The match started with Momo and Natsuko. In a lock-up, Natsuko pushed Momo to the brink. When they broke, Natsu whipped Momo from the apron, and continued whipping her even when she threw her against the ropes. Natsu entered the ring and put Momo in a headlock. She ripped out some of her hair and drove her into the corner, where she was subjected to a Bronco Buster. Natsuko gave Momo a face wash. Sky hit Momo with a series of elbows, a running elbow attack, a soccer ball kick, and another elbow attack. Momo was thrown into the corner but countered with a dropkick, followed by a series of running dropkicks. Prestley dodged Sky and delivered a dropkick. Sky kicked Prestley in the face but only got a two count. Prestley dodged Natsuko's charge and delivered a thrust kick. Utami and Natsuko exchanged shoulder tackles. Natsuko scratches her face and sends Utami flying with a shoulder tackle. Natsuko lands a series of elbows, but Utami slams her to the mat. Momo lands a series of middle kicks on Natsuko. Natsuko dodges a corner dropkick, and the Oedo Tai team launches a series of corner attacks. Natsuko slams Momo with a backflip. Natsuko lands a Kamikaze and a Frog Splash. Momo retaliates, and they exchange elbows. Natsuko charges in with a back blow, but Prestley hits a knee attack. Momo lands a high kick, but Natsuko lands a spear. Natsu hits Momo with a big boot and a brainbuster hold. Natsu steals the Soumatou from Sky's high kick, but Momo manages to escape. 10 minutes have passed. As Natsu climbs to the corner, Utami cuts her off and slams her backwards with an Argentine backbreaker. Momo attempts a Soumatou, but it is cut off. Momo puts Natsu in a sleeper hold. As Natsu made her escape, Momo charged in. Natsu rolled up, but it was only a two-count. Momo hit a high kick followed by a Tequila Sunrise. The referee counted to three, and Momo claimed the victory

Backstage at Korakuen Hall on December 24th, Andras Miyagi was unexpectedly seen standing next to Giulia. Giulia claimed she hadn't noticed her presence, but since neither of them belonged to a unit, they decided to team up for this event. Giulia has been competing since December 8th in Shin-Kiba, and all four of her previous matches were singles matches. This time, it will be her first singles match in Stardom. Will the tag team with Andras, who was expelled from Oedo Tai, work out?!
Andras entered the ring first and attacked Martina as the bell rang, and the fight spilled outside the ring. Andras brought Martina back in, and Giulia stomped on her. They double-teamed her into the ropes and delivered a clothesline. They double-teamed her again, but Martina hit both of them with a lariat. Hayter stomped on Andras repeatedly. He and Martina double-teamed her with an atomic drop. Hayter held Andras in the ropes, but Giulia broke it up. Hayter and his gang also grabbed Giulia and sprayed beer at both of them. Andras dropped kick Hayter. Andras then handed her to Giulia. Giulia pulled Hayter's hair and shook her around. She then rubbed her forehead against the top rope. Giulia body-slammed Hayter. Hayter hit Giulia into the corner post with a brainbuster and a backbreaker. Giulia kicked out, and Hayter and Martina teamed up, with Martina hitting a codebreaker and Hayter slamming her backwards. Martina hit Giulia with a spinning brainbuster. Julia landed a series of big boots, but Martina kicked out. Julia then hit Martina with a Tombstone Piledriver. Andras joined in, and they double-lifted her up and slammed her forward. Julia went for the Stealth Viper. Martina tapped out, giving Julia the victory

Kagetsu suddenly announced her departure from Stardom and retirement at a press conference on December 25th. She will be leaving Stardom this month. Her retirement road will start with a match against Mayu Iwatani, billed as the "final chapter of the rivalry." They have had many fierce battles, including the World of Stardom Championship match at Korakuen Hall on December 24th last year, which is still fresh in our memories. Another point of interest is that Kagetsu's partner is AZM. Kagetsu has tried to recruit AZM into Oedo Tai at every opportunity. And with her departure and retirement, even if she doesn't join Oedo Tai, they will form a "dream tag team." Will we see Kagetsu and AZM's teamwork? In addition to her likely remaining matches against Iwatani, this is also something not to be missed
Kagetsu appeared wearing a QQ mask, and AZM wore an Oedo Tai hoodie. Iwatani, wearing a mask, realized she had forgotten her red belt halfway down the ramp
Iida, who was in corner, brought the red belt from the locker room and handed it to Iwatani. Before the match, Kagetsu pointed to Kid, saying, "Mayu Iwatani!...I don't care about you," and "Kid, you come out!" However, AZM pointed to the World Champion, saying, "Mayu Iwatani comes out." Kagetsu couldn't go against AZM, and the match ended up starting with Iwatani and AZM. However, the exchange quickly shifted to Kagetsu and Kid. Kagetsu dodged Kid and delivered a dropkick. Kagetsu then elbowed Kid in the head and applied a chin lock. AZM delivered a body slam and a foot stomp to Kid. Kagetsu delivered a body slam and a foot stomp to Kid, just like AZM. Kagetsu sprayed water on Kid. She also sprayed referee Murayama. Kagetsu commanded, "AZM, you do it too!" AZM entered the ring with water in his mouth and sprayed it on Kid. AZM also sprayed referee Murayama. Kagetsu and AZM deliver a coordinated foot stomp. At AZM's instruction, Kagetsu captures Kid. AZM tries to use a rubber band snapping attack on Kid but ends up getting hit himself. They try again, and Kid becomes the next victim. Natsu joins in, but as expected, ends up getting hit instead. Kid hits AZM with a cross body and a neckbreaker. Iwatani hits AZM with a dropkick. Iwatani dodges AZM's charge and hits a dropkick. Kagetsu blocks her attempt at a second dropkick on the apron. She tries to team up with AZM, but Iwatani throws them both with an arm whip. Iwatani and Kid exchange dropkicks. AZM sends Iwatani flying with a missile kick. Kagetsu hits Iwatani with a series of middle kicks. After an exchange of elbows, Kagetsu forcefully pushes Iwatani down. Kagetsu jumps and attempts an armbar, but Iwatani escapes. After a struggle for the back, Kagetsu performs a dragon. When Iwatani returns the favor, Kid steals the Ebisu Drop. Kid drops a dropkick on AZM, and AZM counters with a dropkick of his own, followed by a brainbuster. AZM jumps in and applies an armlock. 10 minutes have passed. Kagetsu and AZM team up and charge forward. Iwatani and Kid break up the pin and perform a 619 together. They also perform a standing moonsault together, and Kid hits AZM with a Northern Suplex. Kid announces his finish and dives. AZM counters and they exchange roll-up attempts. Kid charges forward, but Kagetsu grabs him and AZM slams him down. AZM declares his finish and goes for a diving foot stomp, but Iwatani makes the cut. AZM charges forward, but Kid dodges and counters his triangle jump with a dropkick. Iwatani and Kid climb onto the corner, and Kid dives onto Iwatani's back. Kid goes for a Kicchan Bomb, but Kagetsu makes the cut. Kid slaps Kagetsu. Kagetsu is thrown off balance but manages to perform a tope to the outside. Kid throws AZM into the corner. AZM slips and calls Kagetsu in for a double kick. AZM declares he's going for the finish and delivers a diving foot stomp, but Kid manages to kick out at the last moment. AZM lays Kid down and gives instructions to Kagetsu, who performs the Oedo Coaster, and AZM applies a Mystica-style armlock. Kid taps out and AZM wins
Kagetsu: "Hey you guys in Shin-Kiba, how are you all doing!? One more time, how are you all doing!? Hey, hey, wait a minute, Iwatani. I don't care about you, I don't care about you. Hey Kid, Kagetsu-sama has been going on and on about AZM-chan, but actually, actually... I really love you (Kid) too! Thank you for agreeing to the match I wanted at the end. I don't care about you (Iwatani). Actually, I was thinking of saying what I wanted to say in the ring today, as it's the first show of the new year, but since there are three shows in a row today, tomorrow, and the day after, I think I'll say it on the final day. So please come and watch on the final day. And one thing I wanted to say today is, AZM-chan, our friendship wasn't worth 50,000 yen. Thank you!"

STARS and TCS will face off in an all-out 8-woman tag team match. STARS will field Arisa Hoshiki, Tam Nakano, Saki Kashima, and Saya Kamitani, while TCS will face Hana Kimura, Jungle Kyona, Konami, and DEATH Yama-san. What stands out here is Saya Kamitani of STARS. Kamitani was last year's Rookie of the Year and is the wrestler most expected to make a big leap in 2020. What will Kamitani, who has been chosen for the main event of the first tournament of the new year, leave behind? In a sense, this match may be a predictor of Stardom's future this year
STARS started with Kamiya and TCS with Deathyama. As Deathyama struck a pose in all four directions, Kamiya attacked, and Kamiya was booed. Deathyama took down Kamiya and delivered a big boot in combination with Hana. Kyoka and Konami were also called in and struck a TCS pose. Hana delivered a big boot to Kamiya. Konami and Hana stomped on Kamiya's face in the corner. Konami delivered a soccer ball kick to Kamiya. TCS targeted Kamiya with a series of corner attacks. As Hana climbed onto the corner, Kamiya charged at her, hitting her face directly in the buttocks. Kamiya delivered a series of elbows to Kyoka, who stood her ground. Kamiya continued to hit her, yelling, "I won't lose!" She also yelled, "Don't underestimate me!" and delivered a dropkick. Kashima entered the ring and delivered a face crusher to Konami and Deathyama, taking Hana with her as well. STARS delivered a dropkick to Kyoka. Kashima jumps on Kyoka and puts her in a卍-lock. STARS then puts TCS in a submission match. Kyoka escapes on her own. Kyoka powerslams Kashima. Hana throws Kashima aside and shouts, "I have no use for you!" She provokes Hoshiki who has tagged in. Hoshiki lands a series of elbows, and Hana stands up to receive them. After an exchange of elbows, Hoshiki lands a double kick and a thrust kick. Hoshiki charges, and Hana lands a dropkick. Hana lands a series of big boots. When Hoshiki lands a knee, Hana returns the favor with a knee of her own. Hana lands a brainbuster followed by a hydrangea. However, STARS manages to break it up. Hoshiki lands a knee on Hana as she charges. Both are down and tag. Nakano and Konami exchange strikes. Nakano lands a spin kick on Konami as she charges. Konami dodges Nakano's Violet Shooting, but Nakano grabs her arm. 10 minutes have passed. Nakano gets behind her opponent and slams her forward. Kyoka delivers a lariat, and Konami rolls up Nakano. Hana, Deathyama, and Konami attack one after another, but Hoshiki interferes. In the ensuing chaos, Kamitani delivers a dropkick to Deathyama. Kamitani receives the tag and hits Konami with a series of dropkicks, a corner dropkick, a body slam, and a standing moonsault. She climbs to the corner, but Kyoka interferes and delivers a deadly drive. Kamitani causes a friendly fire incident, and the STARS team join in from the corner. Kamitani lays Konami down and delivers a running shooting star. Konami dodges and hits a triangle lancer. Kamitani gives up and Konami is declared the winner
Hana: "First victory in 2020! We won with Konatan-senpai's Final Lancer... Triangle Lancer. We won with Triangle Lancer! A word from Konatan-senpai."
Konami: "It felt really great to be the first one of the new year."
Shouting Woman: "Since it's New Year's Day, and it's a celebratory occasion, I thought we'd ask Konami, who won today, to compose a haiku. What do you think?"
Konami: "Now, now, now, now. Senryu? Senryu? Do you want one? If everyone wants one so badly, I'll give you one. ...It's ready. You and I will start a wrestling match, just the two of us tonight..."
Screaming Woman: "That's dangerous! We won't be able to broadcast right from the start of the new year. This isn't a good way to end it. It's not a good way to end it at all, this isn't a good way to end it."
Hana: "Hana is better at keeping things together, so I'll wrap things up. We'll do the usual. TCS is going to invade in 2020. Everyone is different, and that's okay, that's Tokyo Cyber Squad, yes sir!"
TCS comments
